Closing the doors of my dental practice after 50 years has been a deeply emotional milestone—one filled with gratitude, reflection, and appreciation for the countless people who have made this journey so meaningful.
On April 30, 2026, I officially concluded a career that has brought immeasurable joy and purpose to my life.
As many of you know, Springhill Dental Health Center has been a major part of my life since 1976. It has been my privilege to care for generations of patients and families, develop lasting friendships, and share in countless life stories along the way.
Rather than calling this “Retirement,” I prefer to think of it as a new and exciting “Transition” into the next season of life.
Suzanne and I are sincerely grateful for the trust, loyalty, support, and friendships that have enriched our lives over these many years. We will always cherish the relationships and memories that were created through the practice.
As one chapter closes, another begins. We look forward to new adventures, new opportunities, continued learning, travel, family and discovering all that God has planned for us.
Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your lives and for making Springhill Dental Health Center far more than a practice—it became a community, a source of friendship, and one of the Greatest Blessings of my life.

Farewell to All!!
Dr. Byron Scott is a highly-trained and accomplished dentist who has faithfully served the residents of Mobile and South Alabama since 1976. He earned his DMD at The University of Alabama School of Dentistry , and subsequently completed Advanced Studies at the distinguished L.D. Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Studies in Miami, Florida.
Dr. Scott is Board-Certified by The Academy of General Dentistry and has earned Mastership status (MAGD), an honor shared by only 1% of dentists. Dr. Scott is recognized as an authority in many areas of dentistry and has had the honor of lecturing locally, nationally, and internationally on Cosmetic, Reconstructive, and Implant Dentistry.
Additionally, Dr. Scott has Diplomate status with The American Board of Oral Implantology (D-ABOI) and The International Congress of Oral Implantologists (D-ICOI). He is a Fellow with The American Academy of Implant Dentistry (F-AAID) and holds a Life Membership with the American Dental Association . He is Certified by The Leading Implant Centers of the World , and is a member of The American Academy of Facial Esthetics and The American Board of General Dentistry .
Today, Dr. Scott remains passionate about dentistry and welcomes opportunities through select locum tenens assignments, part-time clinical practice, mentoring, complex treatment planning, practice transition support, and clinical leadership.
He believes excellent dentistry begins with thoughtful diagnosis, careful treatment planning, genuine concern for the patient, and the trust that develops when patients know they are truly being heard.
Patients deserve more than technically competent treatment. They deserve a doctor who listens carefully, diagnoses thoughtfully, communicates honestly, and treats every patient with compassion, respect, and concern.
Throughout his career, Dr. Scott has believed the greatest compliment a dentist can receive is the confidence patients and colleagues place in a dentist's judgment and integrity.
Although his private practice has concluded, his professional purpose has not.
Dr. Scott welcomes opportunities where experience, sound clinical judgment, comprehensive diagnosis, and patient-centered care can strengthen both patients and practices.
